What's with the new website design?

Its worse than the last one (which was bad enough...).

Er, which one?

The pink-and-kind-of-blue one?

Well, I decided I wanted a theme that focused on the three-column design - left column for freshbytes stuff, middle for the actual content, and right for all blog-related things.

Does the new theme work? Does it look alright?

Yes - the current one is better than the one that was up when I posted that.

Still looks pretty bland though - like its a theme that you havent modified much (which is probably true).

Gives the impression that Freshbytes is 'just another quick-build website that no one really cares about'. In fact - it reminds me of the sites you see when people steal domain names and put up temporary ones.

Oh, thanks. /sarcasm

You'll find that the current website theme is modified from the original. I don't have the time nor the resources to spend gargantuan amounts of time building CSS, or any of that stuff. If you want to build a interface that combines the login of WordPress with the logins of PHPbb, and links those two together, be my guest.

What it is, it is.

Use the forum?

I'm one of the most common posters here!

And I agree - writing a template to mesh with other things is difficult. I skipped all that and wrote my own blog engine - with some limited forum capability too.

Not saying my site (http://www.headlessmoron.com) is especially good looking or anything - but at least it dosnt look like I've just thrown up an out-of-the-box package and not even bothered to customize it.

Changing the title text in a theme does not equal customization.

No, but jiggling around the CSS, adding a new background, rounded corners, and a new colour scheme does!

Ah ok - I didnt know that.

Congradulations on customizing a theme to make it look like a default one. Proves you did a good job (dodgey themes are easy to pic as customs) but also didnt go outside the box at all (which is why it still looks like a default theme). Not sure if thats a compliment or not - so take it as you like.

I think I'll take it as a compliment - makes me feel better inside.

Besides, if it means I can take a default theme, jiggle it around a bit, then create another default theme from it - all the better, huh?
